Who said you had to have colour to have fun?

After presenting my debut collection, Promised Party, at On Cue, I found myself wanting to explore a different side of celebration. The collection was built on colour, drawing from childhood dreams of extravagant parties, sparkling lights, and playful glamour. But as I looked around at the people in my life who embody joy, confidence, and a love of a good party, I noticed something interesting: many of them wear almost exclusively black and white.

That observation sparked a question can a collection still capture the energy, excitement, and freedom of celebration without relying on colour?

The answer became Black, White & Covered in Glitter.

This collection explores the relationship between restraint and exuberance. Working within a monochromatic palette allowed me to focus on silhouette, texture, movement, and contrast, while still holding onto the sense of play that inspired my previous work. Black and white become more than colours; they become a stage upon which personality, confidence, and expression can shine.

The idea of glitter runs throughout the collection, though not always in a literal sense. Glitter becomes a symbol of joy, connection, and celebration. It represents the feeling of losing yourself on a dance floor, the excitement of getting ready with friends, the confidence that comes from wearing something that makes you feel entirely yourself, and the memories created during nights that seem to last forever. Sometimes that glitter appears through embellishment and sparkle, but often it exists through texture, shine, movement, and attitude.
